In my games, Randall empires are usually jerks of some sort (slavers, religious zealots, etc.). Star Heads are always either Fanatic Purifiers or the Xenophobic Fallen Empire. Checksum-affecting mods I have are More Ethos Points (+2 ethos points at empire creation, AI adjusts too) and More Civics (+2 civic points at empire creation, Ai adjusts too). You need to build individual habitat modules, but it's not like you can build a habitat module to give a bonus to minerals or energy. There's literally only one kind of habitat on the list that you can build. The ring doesn't have any cool defensive abilities.
